Wedding Traditions - Birth Year Wine for your Wedding Day

Austin's parents had a tradition where they gave a large bottle of wine to each of their children from their respective birth year to open on a special occasion. Since Austin can remember, he's had a Jeroboam of 1987 Chateau d'Yquem. When we got engaged, we realized our wedding night was the perfect time to open it - to share such a special treat with all of our closest friends and family.
After dinner, Austin gave a sweet toast and told the story of the wine, and we were able to give each guest a little taste. Since his father is no longer with us, it was a wonderful way to honor him while also having our guests join in such a memorable tradition.
We can't wait to continue this tradition with our children someday!
